    Welcome to MajorGeeks ***************!:)

    - Please run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:

    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too (these scans are covered in steps 6 & 7 of the READ & RUN ME sticky)

    Bitdefender
    Panda Scan
    HijackThis

    Good Luck!:)

When you return please make sure to post your logs AS ATTACHMENTS. your previous post will be edited to remove the inline log.

thank you for replying so quickly

the tutorial remove other malware i had not related to winlogonhook i believe. i downloaded and used all of the tools and also used some of the online scans. everything looks good except when i used spysweeper which ends up showing winlogonhook. as of now that is the only thing found.

I need your other log files too

    You have HijackThis installed incorrectly:

    You have it here --> C:\Documents and Settings\danny ea\Desktop\hijackthis\HijackThis.exe

This is exactly where we specify not to put it. The instructions indicate:

    - not a temp folder
    - not on the Desktop
    - no sub folder of C:\Documents and Settings

Please install it where recommended so that the backups created by HJT are in a safe location.

    C:\Program Files\HJT\HijackThis.exe

Also HijackThis.exe needs to be renamed to analyse.exe

If you had followed the steps properly you would also have seen a link to some known removal procedures.
Please follow the steps Here for winloginhook removal procedure.

    See my previous post

You have other infections apart from winlogonhook

You say some of the other scans removed some infections, I need these logs too so I can see what they removed before we can procede

Matt is trying to help you, but you have to do your part. Follow the procedures he linked you to in the instructions he posted. Don't short change yourself by skipping steps. HijackThis is not an Anti-malware tool, it is a tool that scans specifically for Browser Hijackers, and at times will show other infections. There are many things that HijackThis won't show.

By not following our procedures it will take longer to help you, as we insist that you follow our instructions. This will lead to frustration on the part of all parties involved.

    Welcome to MajorGeeks.com!

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.
