    hello!
My problem is this: I have downloaded a file from the web (a demo) and it came with winupgro.exe. After the virus disabled my NIS09, started asking for signatures on various programs like MSNmessenger, i tried to restart NIS 09, but when i clicked the icon or .exe file, nothing happened, even in the processes window..I deleted the infected file from Windows Explorer and after a while, the pc rebooted for itself, with no improvement whatsoever.. then i tried to reinstall NIS09 from the cd, but it failed and went into a loop rebooting after intalling and then instaling again, with errors in the process. I followed ur instuctions until CCleaner, which works on my laptop, failed to work. When i run it, it shows the window for a fraction of a second, and then it disappears. Have tried with ccleaner portable from a flash drive, but to no avail...i have mgtools and the GetLogs.bat file is this...
p.s: just noticed that Analyse.exe has the same behaviour as CCleaner, just disappears....and if i run CCleaner just after reboot, it works for a while longer, enough time to start the scan, but then disappears when everything loads.
Please help..i really need the pc for a project i'm doing...
    thanks in advance.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Please do not start duplicate threads. You other thread will be closed. You need to follow the complete instructions in our cleaning procedure which I will repeat down below. MGtools is the very last step, not the first. Also what you attached shows that you stuck another file into the MGlogs.zip file. DO NOT manipluate the MGlogs.zip file yourself. Also it shows you are downloading cracks. You need to read this: Warning about Porn, Keygens, Cracks, and other Illegal Software

Please read ALL of this message including the notes before doing anything.

You have a Win32.Bagle infection and need to run this: Removing Bagle Infections

After completing the Bagle Removal steps and attaching both logs, you MUST continue on with all of the below.

Please follow the instructions in the below link:

READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.
    • **** If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going. ****
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not. MGtools will frequently run even when all other tools will not.

    • After completing the READ & RUN ME and attaching your logs, make sure that you tell us what problems still remain ( if any still do )!
    Helpful Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode, you can run the steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools and the manual updates for SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes ( links are given in the READ & RUN ME) onto another PC and then burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
    3. If you cannot seem to login to an infected user account, try using a different user account (if you have one) in either normal or safe boot mode and running only SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes while logged into this other user account. Then reboot and see if you can log into the problem user account. If you can then run SUPERAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes, ComboFix and MGtools on the infected account as requested in the instructions.
    4. To avoid additional delay in getting a response, it is strongly advised that after completing the READ & RUN ME you also read this sticky:
Any additional post is a bump which will add more delay. Once you attach the logs, your thread will be in the work queue and as stated our system works the oldest threads FIRST.

    Hi!
Yes, I did download a crack, but it was out of need, photoshop is too expensive and college doesn't pay up; but I understand your policy and i agree not to download any more.
About the infection, what I've done is this:
I ran FindyKill, got the log.
It then allowed me to run CCleaner thoroughly.
Then I ran SAS, which rebooted after it found the threats and deleted them on reboot.
But after boot i could not open SAS, the "Win32" error message appeared.I tried renaming, but WE stalled and I was forced to close (not responding), so I couldn't get the SASlog.
Neither MalwareBytes worked, the .exe file crashed WE as well.
Then I ran FindyKill again, and after the boot scan i was able to run MB, which got the log from (still "win32" message for SAS, able to rename, though).
Couldn't run Combofix because of the same "win32" error. Didn't try FindyKill tough.
    Ran RR, got the log.
    MGTools ran smoothly as well.
I am now reinstalling NIS09, with no "preinstall scan error", which i take as a good sign. :)
    Here are the logs.
Thank you very much, and apologies for my bumping again.

Why are you running this PC with no protection?

Let try to fix SUPERAntiSpyware and also get Malwarebytes properly updated. You were more than 300 databases versions out of date with MBAM
    • Please uninstall your current version (this is necessary).
    • Then download this SUPERAntiSpyware
    • Install this new version. It may tell you that you need to reboot to complete the installation. You must reboot at this time.
    • After the reboot, run SUPERAntiSpyware and immediately click the Check for Updates button to get more updates for the database.
    • Now run a new full scan of your system. And attach this new log.
Now run Malwarebytes and click the Update tab. Then click the Check for Updates button so you update to the current version of the program and database. Then run a new scan with it too. Attach the new log.

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    R3 - URLSearchHook: Yahoo! Toolbar - {EF99BD32-C1FB-11D2-892F-0090271D4F88} - (no file)
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5C255C8A-E604-49b4-9D64-90988571CECB} - (no file)
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {602ADB0E-4AFF-4217-8AA1-95DAC4DFA408} - (no file)
    O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {7FEBEFE3-6B19-4349-98D2-FFB09D4B49CA} - (no file)
    O4 - HKLM\..\Policies\Explorer\Run: []
    O4 - HKUS\S-1-5-19\..\RunOnce: [] (User 'LOCAL SERVICE')

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

You did not save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop to run it. Please delete any copies you have of ComboFix now. And download the current version and save it to your Desktop as specified and then run it per the instructions.

Now run Ccleaner. Only use the Run Cleaner button. Do not run anything else on any other forms.

Now download the current version of MGtools and save it to your root folder. Overwrite your previous MGtools.exe file with this one.

Run MGtools.exe ( Note: If using Vista make sure UAC is still disabled. Also don't double click on it, use right click and select Run As Administrator )

    Now attach the below log:
    • the new logs from SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes
    • C:\ComboFix.txt
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

    Hello!
The pc was unprotected because i couldn't install NIS, so i disconnected it from the network manually.
I did what you asked, except for deleting 2 of the keys in HJT, for they were missing from the report.
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {602ADB0E-4AFF-4217-8AA1-95DAC4DFA408} - (no file)
    O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {7FEBEFE3-6B19-4349-98D2-FFB09D4B49CA} - (no file)

Here are the logs, and thank you once again:)
    Yours, Joao Soares

    You're welcome.

That is a reason for not installing when already infected, but why was there none before getting infected.

    Your logs are clean.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /u
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /u, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    5. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    6. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    7. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    8. If you are running Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 6 of the READ ME for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    9. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

Thank you very much in the first place!

    Thanks again!
