Computer Restarts on its own, Other Malware Issues

I recently got infected by the Vundo and Windows Antispyware2009 trojans, which I believe I have successfully removed with the help of Malwarebytes, Vundofix, Spybot, HijackThis, SUPERAntispyware etc.
However, my computer has still been acting strangely and I'm not sure if this is due to the same problem or a different one:
Once I completed the malware fixes and restored my computer, my internet browsers wouldn't work (ping would, however), so I ran a Winsock Fix utility (which required a restart).
Upon restart, internet was working again but I noticed in my Task Manager that several dozen copies of services.exe and cmd.exe were loading and hogging up my memory (eventually I was unable to load new programs or even the task manager until I did a restart).

Upon running SUPErantispyware again, apparently new trojans were found on my computer -- either by being re-activated after a reboot or they were actually getting downloaded in the background. I have removed all of these and since then, I no longer have any memory-hog issues (yet).

My antispyware software indicated the torjans are now gone, but now I have a new problem:
Every so often my computer will restart on its own -- not a "hard" reboot (which happens sometimes with BSOD or memory errors, etc), but a "soft" reboot -- on its own, my OS (Windows XP Pro) will actually close down all my programs while I am using them, log off my account, go through the proper software restart process, and just reboot again.

Does anyone know what is causing this? It doesn't seem to happen after any specific amount of time -- minutes or hours. And when it occurs, my CPU and memory are not necessarily congested.

I can provide a HijackThis dump if necessary but I don't know if that would help..
    Thanks for any replies...

    A few more updates:

My computer has still be restarting on its own, and I'm starting to get concerned that there is an open port on my computer that is allowing someone access to send a command to my computer to reboot. Is this possible?

This morning I was having trouble connecting to the internet, so I was trying to diagnose through my router, and I was unable to connect to my router through it's IP address! When I try ipconfig, I am assigned an IP address and the default gateway is my router's IP (192.168.1.100) however I cannot connect to the router's "server" on that IP. (Firefox states "The address seems valid but a connection can not be completed").
So, I reset the router manually, and it seems like I then have internet access for a few seconds, before access is cut off again. Is it possible there is Malware on my computer infecting the router software??? Any ideas??

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Your restarts may or may not be due to malware. The best way for us to determine that is for you to please follow the instructions in the READ & RUN ME FIRST link given futher down and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.
    • If you have problems where no tools seem to run, please try following the steps given in the below and then continue on no matter what you find. You only need to try the TDSSserv steps if having problems getting scans in the Read & Run Me First.
    • If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide
    • After completing the READ & RUN ME and attaching your logs, make sure that you tell us what problems still remain ( if any still do )!
    Helpful Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode, you can run the steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools and the manual updates for SUPERAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes and Spybot ( links are given in the READ & RUN ME) onto another PC and then burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
    3. To avoid additional delay in getting a response, it is strongly advised that after completing the READ & RUN ME you also read this sticky:
Any additional post is a bump which will add more delay. Once you attach the logs, your thread will be in the work queue and as stated our system works the oldest threads FIRST.
