I am having a hard time doing anything with my computer.

A couple of hours ago, my antivirus, McAfee, said it detected and removed a trojan. A few moments later, my desktop basically crashed. All of my icons and my taskbar disappeared, leaving me with only my background image. Shortly thereafter, they will reappear for a few seconds, then the process repeats. I have restarted my computer several times, and tried going on different accounts, but this problem continued. I then scanned my computer, and detected one file, which I removed. I then cleared out absolutely everything I could think of; i.e. my recycle bin, temporary files, etc. I also started receiving pop-ups, which I eventually stopped by changing my security settings. A program error kept popping up saying such and such program has made an error and must be closed. It was called " GetModule35 ". I manually blocked it's internet access, and removed the program. The pop-ups then stopped, but I am unsure if that program was the cause. I currently have the computer on lockdown, and I have run several subsequent scans, but nothing is turning up. I went into my logs and found a certain folder in C:\WINDOWS was causing the changes. I tried to delete the folder via my antivirus (I am unable to have a window open from windows itself- it disappears when my icons and taskbar do; therefore I am unable to go into anything for more than a few seconds, including add/remove software), but I got an error message saying it was in use. The folder name is LMI83.tmp . The actual program is lmi_rescue.exe . As stated previously, attempts to remove or even stop the program have failed. By looking at my running processes, explorer.exe disappears each time my desktop flickers. Almost immediately thereafter, another program pops up, then goes away before I can even read what it is. Any help with this situation would be immensely appreciated.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Based on info in your first message, it sounds like you could have a Vundo infection. It would be a good idea if you did the below just to be sure you are clean.

Please follow the instructions in the READ & RUN ME FIRST link given futher down and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.
    • If you have problems where no tools seem to run, please try following the steps given in the below and then continue on no matter what you find. You only need to try the TDSSserv steps if having problems getting scans in the Read & Run Me First.
    • If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide
    • After completing the READ & RUN ME and attaching your logs, make sure that you tell us what problems still remain ( if any still do )!
    Helpful Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode, you can run the steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools and the manual updates for SUPERAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes and Spybot ( links are given in the READ & RUN ME) onto another PC and then burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
    3. To avoid additional delay in getting a response, it is strongly advised that after completing the READ & RUN ME you also read this sticky:
Any additional post is a bump which will add more delay. Once you attach the logs, your thread will be in the work queue and as stated our system works the oldest threads FIRST.
