Have an interesting issue with a clients pc. The computer that I'm working on has some kind of malware on it that will not allow SuperAntiSpyware, MalwareBytes, Spybot Search & Destroy or Norton 360 V2 to run or access the Internet. Whenever I tried to run SuperAntiSpyware it gives me a windows error, even if I'm trying to uninstall the program. MalwareBytes and Spybot Search & Destroy will go through the motions of opening but never actually run. Norton 360 Live Updates will connect to do the updates for just a moment then disconnect giving an error. The only success I've had with troubleshooting is using HijackThis, and the only reason it is working is because it is listed as "Analyze.exe" on the computer that I'm troubleshooting. The following files were manually deleted from the system and registry and were found through HijackThis.

    uzifotizicifa.dll. bupuyafo.dll, viheguso.dll, bebutepo.dll, zokulabo.dll, sebajuyo.dll, gekininu.dll, gijoyeri.dll, lavejipu.dll

And even though these files were removed from the system and registry I am still not able to access the Internet with Norton 360 to do live updates nor can I run the malware software from my MG tools folder. The host file is "read only" and has not been modified and Firefox is the browser that I'm using and it is the latest version.

Any help that is offered for the resolution of this issue will be very appreciated.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Please follow the instructions in the READ & RUN ME FIRST link given futher down and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

    • If you have problems where no tools seem to run, please try following the steps given in the below and then continue on no matter what you find. You only need to try the TDSSserv steps if having problems getting scans in the Read & Run Me First.
    • If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

    Helpful Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can run steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:

    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools and the manual updates for SUPERAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes and Spybot ( links are given in the READ & RUN ME) onto another PC and then burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
    3. To avoid addtional delay in getting a response, it is strongly advise that after completing the READ & RUN ME you also read this sticky Don't Bump! It Only Hurts You!!!. Any additional post is a bump which will add more delay. Once you attach the logs, your thread will be in the work queue and as stated our system works the oldest threads FIRST.

Thanks for your response, prior to reading your email I updated the version of ComboFix.exe on my clients pc and it found exactly what you suggested that I look for on the pc, the "TDSS Serv" issue. Once it finished running everything is now running properly. All of my MGtools are working and Norton 360 is able to run Live Updates and do a complete scans.

    MajorGeeks Rocks!!!! :cool

    Thanks
