Pctstray.exe problem causing pc to stop

    Help!!
    Beginning of may I had this error message on my screen, everything froze and my mouse keyboard didnt respond when I tried to switch my pc off. I could not switch off either by using ctrl/halt,delete,or the power button, i had to unplug it. when I rebooted it took for ever, bottom right icons were slow to load, and desktop icons were white for ages. PC ran slow.

    I used pctools spyware doctor for over a year, beginning of May i was told there was an upgrade, so I upgraded. Since then this problem began. I have googled pctstray.exe and found this program runs for spyware doctor. I also read on the forums that pctstray.exe can also be malware.
    I ran Norton, spybot, spyware blaster, malwarebytse to remove it, 4 trojans showed up, these were removed. (spybot found win32.sdbot.aad which it said it fixed) 1 forum said to use regcure which I used, it removed some problems, but to remove all I had to pay for it and I did not. I then uninstalled and reinstalled pctool spyware doctor on 3 occasions over the past few weeks, for about a week after doing this no problems. Last week I tried CCleaner thinking it may be a registry problem, another week no problem Pc running normal speed, no problem on shut down or boot up. Yesterday wide error box returned when I tried to switch off. The wide error box had another unable to end program box over it, something to do with 'jusched' and pc locked up. Please! Please! Please!can anyone help me.
    Is this error doing any damage to my PC?

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

    Please follow the instructions in the READ & RUN ME FIRST link given futher down and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

    • If you have problems where no tools seem to run, please try following the steps given in the below and then continue on no matter what you find. You only need to try the TDSSserv steps if having problems getting scans in the Read & Run Me First. If TDSSserv is not found, just continue on with the READ & RUN ME.
    READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

    • If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
    • After completing the READ & RUN ME and attaching your logs, make sure that you tell us what problems still remain ( if any still do )!
    Helpful Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode, you can run the steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:

    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools and the manual updates for SUPERAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes and Spybot ( links are given in the READ & RUN ME) onto another PC and then burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
    3. If you cannot seem to login to an infected user account, try using a different user account (if you have one) in either normal or safe boot mode and running only SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes while logged into this other user account. Then reboot and see if you can log into the problem user account. If you can then run SUPERAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes, ComboFix and MGtools on the infected account as requested in the instructions.
    4. To avoid additional delay in getting a response, it is strongly advised that after completing the READ & RUN ME you also read this sticky:

    Any additional post is a bump which will add more delay. Once you attach the logs, your thread will be in the work queue and as stated our system works the oldest threads FIRST.

    Thank you for your help, appears to be ok at the moment.
    As a complete beginner I would have struggled to get through the instruction/links without help from someone else here.

    sorry we missread the last part of the run read me, we thought it read if there were still problems we had to send the logs, we didnt realise we had to send them either way.
    We thought we had fixed the pcstray.exe problem, as it didnt show up. however I think there is still a problem as last mon my pc froze again when I opened IE. it took longer and longer to access the internet and end task wouldnt clear it. When I booted up it directed me to a google page that didnt connect froze up pc, tuesday did the same but redirected me to a web page. We have spent time checking the proceses and noticed an explorer.exe running at 94% CPU and copies of iexplore.exe at about 50,000k we checked and found that explorer should be in windows folder, but found it in program files with auto dialers and things.
    I have taken it to be checked at my local pc shop, the logs are on the pc cannot get to them, can I send you the original logs we did, could you still please check them for me? to see if you can find the problem.

    Since I have no idea as to what will be done at the computer shop, I would want you to gather all new logs.
