PLEASE help - Inected with DNSChanger & cannot remove

    Hey all

    Please can you help, I have been infected with DNSChanger (I think!) and just can't remove it. I recently lost my job and need my PC for job hunting!

    I HAVE read the rules on what to do first, however my machine will NOT open Internet explorer. When I double click it, it does nothing (Yet it does appear in Task Manager manager as a process) I tried putting Combofix CCleaner etc on a memory stick but when I put a memory stick in the machine, it makes the USB noise, but it does not show in file manager so I can't add them that way

    When I boot up I get the following error

    Windows - No Disk
    Exception Processing Message c000013 Parameters 75b6bf7c 4 75b6b7c 75b6bf7c

    (Cancel - Try again - Continue)

    It appears 10-20 times over and over as you click cancel or continue

    Then I get the error

    ViewMgr has encountered a problem and needs to close

    szAppName : ViewpointService.exe szAppVer : 2.0.0.54
    szModName : Viewpointservice.exe szModVer : 2.0.0.54 offset 00002250

    Once this goes, my Spysweeper starts to load and I get the following error

    Spysweeper installation has been damaged. Please reinstall product (105)

    McAfee boots with no errors. When I perform a scan on McAfee I get the following result

    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\UACXTETOBWV.DLL
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\UACUWMYQOOD.DLL
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\UACUIUWKSPN.DLL

    Are all infected with DNSChanger.r

    McAfee then says it has quarantined the files but they are there again if you exit McAfee and rescan

    When I try and boot into safe mode I get the blue screen of death everytime

    System restore wouldn't work, I have now turned it off

    I am fairly PC literate but I have no clue how to fix this as it is blocking me from accessing the web at all or from adding anything to the system via a USB stick

    I am using my wifes laptop at the moment but desperately need my PC

    Any help or advice would be greatly apreciated

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

    Try using the additional information if the below instructions to help you. Try a CD rather than a USB drive. Also try ALL programs as stated. DO NOT stop just because one scan does not work. Turning off System Restore was not a good idea. Now all restore points are gone and they could have been useful via other methods than just trying to run System Restore. You now have no fall back options.



    Please follow the instructions in the READ & RUN ME FIRST link given futher down and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.
    • If you have problems where no tools seem to run, please try following the steps given in the below and then continue on no matter what you find. You only need to try the TDSSserv steps if having problems getting scans in the Read & Run Me First.
    • If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
    READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide
    • After completing the READ & RUN ME and attaching your logs, make sure that you tell us what problems still remain ( if any still do )!
    Helpful Notes:


    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode, you can run the steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools and the manual updates for SUPERAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes and Spybot ( links are given in the READ & RUN ME) onto another PC and then burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
    3. To avoid additional delay in getting a response, it is strongly advised that after completing the READ & RUN ME you also read this sticky:
    Any additional post is a bump which will add more delay. Once you attach the logs, your thread will be in the work queue and as stated our system works the oldest threads FIRST.
