    Hello,

I'm new to this forum, I'll tell you that + I'm sorry for my English... i'm Dutch.
Ok now, here is the problem. I got that nasty Win32/virut on my computer. All my exe's are infected i guess...:cry
I also read the previous posts about removing this virus... but i didn't get very far.
First my pc status: I runned AVG Free and updated every time it was needed to. Also always updated windows XP. A few days ago, i downloaded a file, scanned it with avg and nothing in there. I run the file and *poef* a win32/heur virus infects my pc causing not be able to start up several programs. After a day, by installing the PC Tools Internet Security and Removing my avg (not 2 AV on 1 pc) i got the Win32/heur virus removed. Yay!... well not really... the PC Tools I.S. found nothing. So i removed it again and installed AVG 8.5 again and updated it. Again a multiple threat infection: the Win32/virut. My reflection is to pull out my internetconnection because i'm on a lan with 5 pc's and won't that they are infected too. So i looked up on the other pc's for a remover for this virus. Found out that AVG has such a remover. I already runned it 4 times with scanning whole my computer... and still if i boot up my pc in normal mode, avg directly say again: Multiple threat detection: Win32/virut in ...

I can still run my pc normally, but I don't want to connect to the internet because of maybe downloading other malware by the virus itself. I got 2 hard disk's... both infected. I also got no backup from my second harddisk (Which is the harddisk of all my games and i would like to keep them all :)) (btw: first harddisk is purely windows)

What should i do now? Any suggestions? Could i also run the second harddisk in another pc and cleaning it without infecting the other pc?

    Thanks anyways!

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Please follow the instructions in the READ & RUN ME FIRST link given futher down and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

    • If you have problems where no tools seem to run, please try following the steps given in the below and then continue on no matter what you find. You only need to try the TDSSserv steps if having problems getting scans in the Read & Run Me First.
    • If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

    Helpful Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can run steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:

    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools and the manual updates for SUPERAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes and Spybot ( links are given in the READ & RUN ME) onto another PC and then burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
    3. To avoid addtional delay in getting a response, it is strongly advise that after completing the READ & RUN ME you also read this sticky Don't Bump! It Only Hurts You!!!. Any additional post is a bump which will add more delay. Once you attach the logs, your thread will be in the work queue and as stated our system works the oldest threads FIRST.
